:p ;)

May 20, 2009

today’s edition of: How I write on the internet, brought to you by the illustrious sebrontosaurus!

to me :p* means what it looks like: me smiling and sticking my tongue out after you after I just made a joke. It’s gotcha/jk+lol… all that garbage packed into one: I’m laughing at a joke I made at your expense, but I’m showing you that I mean no ill will. That’s why I made the smiley, because I thought something was funny enough that I wanted to share the joke with you!

;) means a friendly conspiracy. As in, I’m explaining a joke that not everyone else would get (usually  by putting us at odds with someone else or saying something suggestive), but I know you’ll know what I meant as soon as you see me winking. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. I’m reminding you that my last sentence had multiple meanings, and I’m laughing at one of them. ;) **

====

*Note, this is different from :P , which is the face I make after a really stupid pun, because it is the kind of face a mouthbreather laughing at a pun (see: me) makes after making a really bad pun.***

**Ed–a sentence about multiple meanings having multiple meanings? you’ve gone mad!

Yep. ;) –s

***Ed- There’s no such thing as a bad pun! tell me that this sentence can’t be improved: “cartoonist found dead in home. Details are not fully penned in yet.”

…I don’t get it.–s

-ps, did you see what i did there with the title :p

"’I’m a guy who doesn’t see anything good having come from the Internet,’ said Sony Pictures Entertainment chief executive officer Michael Lynton. ‘Period.’"

another addition to the list of "luddite retards afraid of progress who are somehow in positions of power".

PS. This post only serves to solidify my high standing on the list "people on the internet making mostly non-productive derogatory remarks about idiots they read about on the internet".

PPS. today is "extremely descriptive titles of things put in quotation marks" day

If you’re on OS X and hate Adobe Reader, get this shizz. It’s much faster and loading and allows you to edit. Take that, proprietary formats.

Beauty

May 13, 2009

Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, it is everywhere and everything that surrounds us. All that lies within the beholders’ eyes is the ability and desire to see, observe, and appreciate that beauty.

Caprica Pilot

May 13, 2009

Yo, BSG fans:

I’m watching the pilot for Caprica now, and once you get past the first 15 minutes or so, it’s actually very good. Very different from BSG, but still good. A lot of good philosophical questions, reasonably good acting, some good puling-your-heartstrings moments. Other cool things we see: a proto-cylon shooting paintballs, the cigarette smoking man from x-files (I think) wearing glasses with the corners cut off, e-paper as a realistic and neat technological device, and a surprising amount of boobs.

"Boston: Please cut off your battery, and let us see if we cannot work with the auroral current alone.

Portland, Maine: I have done so. Will you do the same?

Boston: I have cut my battery off and connected the line with the earth. We are working with the current from the Aurora Borealis alone. How do you receive my writing?"
